Speeches

Making a speech is seen as an art. In our society, everyday speeches are made in which the speaker turns to his or her audience in order to address a certain concern, for example at events, meetings or other occasions. Many speeches that have made a difference to the world are known from the past. They contain history and remind the successive generations of past events.
You will find here some examples of such speeches as reading material. The list of the speeches has been arranged chronologically, starting with the newest one. Every speech is enhanced with text, audio and video.
Use them for your foreign language learning in order to:
  • immerse in the English language by means of authentic contents,
  • and to learn aspects of the culture and society of a country.
